The Korean Information Display Society (KIDS)
The Korean Information Display Society (KIDS), established in June 18, 1999, has more than 2,000 members in individual and 42 corporate members, including Samsung Display, LG Display, LG Electronics, and Merck. The main goal of the KIDS is to promote fundamental academic research and original core-technologies for the nation’s information display industry. It consists of 13 research groups (active matrix displays, liquid crystal technologies, plasma display panel, field-emission display, organic light-emitting diode & flexible displays, materials & parts, equipment, driving electronics & systems, 3 dimensional displays, image quality, lighting source, phosphor, quantum dots & photovoltaics).The KIDS are primarily involved in seeking expert professionals for the domestic information display industry; stimulating advanced research on next-generation information display technologies; facilitating the cooperation and the technology transfer among the academe, industries, and research institutions; and pursuing international relationships with foreign societies. The standard activities include International Meeting on Information Display (IMID), Journal of Information Display, KIDS Display School, Expert Mapping Program, etc.
