Principal Researcher at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT)
Dr. Tae-Gon Kim is a Principal Researcher at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) in South Korea. He works for developing Cd-free quantum dots for display applications. He received B.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University in 2000 and 2006, respectively. After getting Ph.D., he joined SAIT as a research scientist for display materials. He also worked as a visiting scientist in UC Berkeley for quantum dots research (2014 – 2015). He has over 70 publications including papers, patents, and patent applications in the field of functional inorganic materials. His main research interests are design and characterization of optoelectronic materials such as colloidal quantum dots, photocatalysts, and TCO.
