Dr. Jie Bao
Dr. Jie Bao graduated with a B.S. degree from Tsinghua University in China and holds a Ph.D. degree from Brown University. He carried out his postdoc research at MIT, before joining the faculty of the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, where he started his own research group. He is a member of the renowned National 1000 Plan Professorship Program in China. He has been an adjunct assistant professor of Brown University, and a principal investigator at the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Bao has extensive experience in a broad range of fields including chemistry, spectroscopy, biology, nanotechnology and electronic engineering. He invented the quantum dot spectrometer technology and co-founded QDChip, the company that is commercializing the technology and where he currently serves as the CEO.
